An Unlikely Rise to the Top
In terms of elite NFL quarterbacks, Kurt Warner’s path to the top is unprecedented. After taking over for the Rams in 1999 following a season-ending injury to star QB Trent Green, Warner led St. Louis to a Super Bowl victory. His transformation to grocery store bagger to Super Bowl MVP is well-chronicled, and with his recent retirement, the only question left to answer is whether or not he’ll make it the Hall of Fame.
While his career was plagued by injuries, Warner still boasts two MVP awards and the three highest passing yardage totals in Super Bowl history. For his career, Warner also turned in a QB rating of 93.2—number three all time behind Steve Young and Peyton Manning. If Warner does make it to the Hall of Fame, he will more than likely go in as a Ram, with whom he won his Super Bowl, but fans should still keep their Arizona Cardinals jerseys as collector’s items.
ARIZONA SET FOR PLAYOFFS
Larry Fitzgerald broke many records and was highly ranked as a wide receiver for Pittsburgh University; everyone knew he was going to be a star. Then the Arizona Cardinals picked him in the first round. With Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin and Kurt Warner this meant trouble for opposing defenses because of their ability to throw the football just about anywhere on the field.
Fitzgerald’s assets are that he has great hands and excellent speed and the ability to run away from defenders rarely getting caught from behind. His size also allows him to not get pushed around by the defenders, they will try to bump him, but he is too big and strong to allow them to get into his way.
Larry Fitzgerald, I think, is one of if not the best wide receiver in the National Football League today and now you can show your support for Fitzgerald and the rest of the Cardinals like I do with authentic Arizona Cardinals jerseys.
HANGIN IN WITH THE CARDINALS
Kurt Warner is the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals. He was originally signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 1994. He played college football at Northern Iowa. Warner first reached fame for his highly successful stint with the St. Louis Rams from 1998-2003, where he won two NFL MVP awards in 1999 and 2001, . Kurt Warner finished the 1999-2000 NFL season with a 414-yard performance in Super Bowl XXXIV, shattering Joe Montana’s Super Bowl-record 357 passing yards. This performance earned him Super Bowl MVP honors as well. Kurt amassed 4,353 yards, 41 touchdowns, and a 109.1 passer rating during this period as well.
Kurt Warner has had a lot of ups and downs in his professional NFL career. He says “Looking at the big picture, I know my role in this is to help share my faith, and to share my relationship with the Lord in this capacity”. I think he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. By slipping on either my St. Louis Rams jerseys or my Arizona Cardinals jerseys is one of the ways I show my support for my favorite players.
